Adobe understands that since they do not control the hardware – they’ll have to go after what the hardware makers demand. Apple denied Flash support on iPad and since then many companies have followed. The newer technology “HTML5″ is fast replacing Adobe’s Flash (the oldest tool in web history which’s been in existence since 1996).

Even popular video sharing websites are now offering HTML 5 based videos. YouTube is the one of the largest video sharing websites on the internet. There are multiple methods of watching videos on YouTube without depending on Adobe Flash. Other websites like Dailymotion, metacafe, vimeo and blip.tv is now spreading the HTML5 to the web.

Adobe, as a company, is no fool. They understand that in order to stay in the game, they need to adopt the newer technology and make their developers love Adobe’s new design tool. In order to be an early mover in the game, Adobe’s has just released ‘Adobe Edge’ – the HTML 5 design tool to replace Flash.

About Adobe Edge

Adobe Edge is aimed at helping developers bring flash animations to web pages using newer technologies like CSS 3, JavaScript and HTML 5. The software will be updated on regular basis to add support to latest design standards and technologies. Following are the highlights of the software -

Create new animations with Edge’s drawing and text tools.

SVG, PNG, JPG or GIF files import support.

A new timeline editor for animations. More customizations to animations at property level.

Customize and jazz up existing HTML files with CSS 3 and JavaScript.

Copy and paste transitions, invert them, and choose from over 25 built-in easing effects for added creativity.

Some Disadvantages

HTML5 has enjoyed a strong start, but it still enjoys relatively limited support in the browser market. Said Eric Leland, principal at Internet strategy firm FivePaths, “If you look at the market share for browsers, we find that less than half the browsers in use are HTML5 compatible at this point.” That percentage is certain to rise rapidly over the next couple of years, but a substantial share of the browser market will require an alternative to HTML5 for the foreseeable future. “Companies will still need to be backwards compatible for older browsers at a minimum,” said Leland, “and will employ Flash for this.”

In addition to raw browser support, HTML5 lacks a number of features that Flash offers. Most notably, said Eric Leland, “Flash includes digital rights management features, while in HTML5, users can quickly save videos to their own machines.” That may not sound like such a bad thing for users, but for developers and content owners, it’s a serious problem. A number of DRM schemes are currently under consideration for HTML5, but the issue is far from resolved. Leland added, “the best-fitting software depends on your use case. Many projects will benefit from technologies like Flash that are not browser controlled.”

Hope

Edge HTMl 5 App is Adobe’s move to stay in control of web animations. We believe this is definitely a smart move by the company. By being an early entrant, Adobe will have ample time to build developer community around Edge which is going to be a crucial part of their success.

He launches Twitter clone, Heello.

Twitpic founder Noah Everett has unveiled Heello yesterday. Yesterday, Twitter completed the rollout of its own official photo-sharing app, a move that spells danger for other photo-sharing services that use Twitter’s API.

Twitpic was on the top of that list, and now, Everett is swinging back at Twitter with his own microblogging competitor that includes photo-sharing capabilities out of the gate, with video-sharing and check-ins coming soon.

On Heello, instead of tweeting, users send “pings” to their followers. Instead of retweeting, users “echo” other posts. And instead of following, friends “listen” to their friends. The only real difference is that updates appear in a user’s stream in real-time, which is quite annoying if you want to click on something in a friend’s tweet.

But the first thing every tech entrepreneur learns is that product differentiation is the key to victory. Releasing an absolute clone of a product, in 2011, is sheer incompetence.

Much as we love new social media services at eNewsz, we’re not sure what to make of Heello. If Everett was looking for some attention, well, mission accomplished. But his service will have a tough time gaining traction against Twitter, and its 200 million registered users, without any truly innovative features.

The Firefox users around the globe started blogging against this surprise action from the Google’s side.

In a blog post dated 19 July, Google said that

“For Firefox users, many features that were once offered by Google Toolbar for Firefox are now already built right into the browser. Therefore, while Google Toolbar for Firefox works on versions up to and including Firefox 4 only, it will not be supported on Firefox 5 and future versions.”

No More Firefox in Chrome Age

In a more detailed Help Center article on the support page, Google explains that many of the functions previously offered with Google toolbar are now available as Firefox add-ons. These include auto-fill, page translation, spellcheck, page sharing and bookmarks, among others. And the interesting thing is that Google does not make any warranties or guarantees about any add-ons. That seems Google can stop these Addon support Firefox at any time.

Hello folks! What you think about this surprise move from the Web tycoon? Is the marks the end of Firefox browser? Your comments are the main strength of eNewsz.com

It links intelligence test results with browser usage, Mashable reports.

The study conducted by AptiQuant, a Canadian company compiled IQ test scores of 101,326 individuals older than the age of 16 and divided them into groups according to the browser they use.

The results of the tests are don’t look good for users of Microsoft’s Internet Explorer. Users of Internet Explorer 6 have an average IQ score barely more than 80; Firefox and Chrome users fare much better, with average IQ scores of around 110, while Opera and Camino users have an average IQ score more than 120.

It’s also interesting to note that average IQ scores of IE6 users were significantly higher in 2006, and that the IQ scores get better with newer versions of IE.

Anyways, Hey folks! What about you? Are you still there with a lower IQ? Then kindly upgrade or change your browser as soon as possible.
